Für Kristine Meredith Flaherty alias K.Flay liefen die letzten Jahre musikalisch gesehen recht erfolgreich. Ihr zweites Album "Every Where Is Some Where” wurde für zwei Grammys nominiert, ihre Songs wurden tausendfach gestreamt, für Computerspiele verwendet und landeten auf Soundtracks.
Vielleicht ist das auch der Grund warum die aktuelle Platte „Solutions“ positiver ausgefallen ist, als die beiden zuvor. Es geht nicht um Probleme, sondern um die Lösung ebendieser. Freundlicher, weniger düster und fast gänzlich ohne Rap-Parts – so klingt das neue Album. Das macht die Songs nicht unbedingt komplexer und hier und da vermisst man beim Hören dann schon die Rap-Skills, die K.Flay definitiv besitzt. Aber warum nicht auch mal andere Wege gehen. „Solutions“ ist eine ordentliche, authentische Pop-Electro-Rock Platte. Die Songs haben Kraft und bleiben im Ohr.

it's rare that songwriters talk about social exclusion, about being cut off from a crowd or group. this song really encapsulates that experience, i think. of being dropped by your friends. and realizing maybe they weren't your friends in the first place.

my girlfriend just showed me this song and we were both crying by the end. such a beautiful piano part and a beautiful sentiment.
The Cranberries - Linger
dolores o'riordan had one of those legendary and evocative voices. you can feel the pain of betrayal and breakup so acutely when she sings.
Cage The Elephant - Goodbye
this is one of the best album closers i've heard in a long time. what a powerful and intimate song.
SZA - Drew Barrymore
i think the first line kinda encapsulates everything. it's a question we're all asking ourselves, at different times, for different reasons. 'why is it so hard to accept the party is over?'
